Paper Piecing with Whiff of Joy

***If you are interested in trying out for the Whimsy Stamps Design Team, please click HERE for more information....TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO APPLY!

Hi All and happy Friday!

We have a fun new challenge posted today on Stamp Something and it's an easy one with a super cute blog candy prize! This week we want to see your paper pieced somethings! And one lucky participant will receive a brand new Whiff of Joy stamp that Katharina has kindly donated as our sponsor this week! Head on over there now and check out all the details of the challenge and the beautiful creations by the design team.

For my card I wanted to use the color combo of green and purple so I grabbed my Wisteria paper pack from BasicGrey and then my image and started piecing!

I colored the non paper pieced areas of the image with my Copics and highlighted with a glitter and gel pen. The layout is from the challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar. I used the cardstock colors of Elegant Eggplant, Mellow Moss, and Almost Amethyst from SU!. I distressed the edges of my paper with scissors to fit the challenge at Simon Says Stamp. The sentiment is from SU! short and sweet.

I embellished with Prima flowers, flower soft on the image, and a jumbo silver brad. I also added some stickles to the wings of this sweet angel. All the flowers fit this week's Whiff of Joy challenge. And lastly, this card fits the challenge at Cute Daisy May, which was friends. I plan to send this card to a friend today in fact.

OK, well, have a fabulous weekend. Hope you'll join us this week and play along with our Stamp Something Paper Pieced Somethings challenge! Happy Stamping!

Orange Tabby

***If you are interested in trying out for the Whimsy Stamps Design Team, please click HERE for more information....only two days left to apply!

Hi All!

It's pretty yucky here today, rainy and humid. Looks like another day indoors. Hope you are having a good day. I know I'm looking forward to the weekend myself and hoping for some less humid weather too.

I have a card to share today that I made with my new Sugar Nellie Braveheart stamp! He's simply the sweetest little kitty! I've also tried a new setting on my camera to see if I can increase the quality of the image, we'll see how that works out! LOL!

I've colored him with Copics in various orange tones. I was going for an orange tabby effect! I also highlighted the image with a glitter and gel pen. The sketch is from Papertake Weekly and the I chose the color combo to fit with the challenge of Y is for Yellow at ABC Challenge. It's been hard to combine challenges this week as there are a bunch of sketches! I hope to squeeze a few more in on a card for tomorrow.

Before I go, I do have some fun and exciting news to share! I was chosen as one of the new design team members for a new company called Paper Maniac! I'm thrilled and honored to be working with this team and can't wait to get started. The Paper Maniac store will be opening in September, stay tuned!

Thanks for coming by today, have a great day! Happy Stamping! :)

Little Girl in Blue

Happy Wednesday!

Yay, another week almost half over and the weekend quickly approaching! Hope you are having a good day. It's another heat wave day here, too hot to play outside so we stayed in and played. I got to stamp too!

This is a card I created using my new Sugar Nellie Little Goth Girl. Funny, when I ordered her, I just liked the cute little size of her and her pose. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why she was named goth girl. Then I got her in the mail and saw her little skull and cross bones hair clip! Too cute, she's going to make a perfect Halloween stamp!

I used some Copics to color the image and added glitter and gel pen highlights. The papers are BasicGrey Off Beat with Stampin' Up! Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze, and White. I added some pearls, chipboard hearts, and Prima and felt flowers as my accents.

This card fits the challenges at:
The Pink Elephant: sketch challenge
Stamp with Fun: Pearls
Creative Card Crew: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun
Roses on Paper: Hearts

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a nice night! Happy stamping. :)

Fun with Challenges

***If you are interested in trying out for the Whimsy Stamps Design Team, please click HERE for more information....

HI All!

Hope you had a great Tuesday. I had a friend over today, so moms got to chat and kids got to play! It's was very fun for everyone! Now the kids are resting and all is quiet so I thought I'd share the creation I made yesterday.

This is something new for me, usually I make cards, but I found this Gift Card Holder challenge at Double Dutch and thought, let's give that a try! It also qualifies for a few other challenges too. Some are new challenges for me that I found yesterday while blog hopping.

There was a simple and easy tutorial on the Double Dutch site and I used that for the base of my holder. I used Stampin' Up! cardstock in Melon Mambo and Chocolate Chip and paired that with some BasicGrey Lemonade papers. These colors fit the Cupcake Craft challenge of pink, green, and brown. Cupcake also wanted to see animals and flowers on your card, so I added a butterfly and a Prima flower, hope that works.

I used 2 papers, 1 ribbon, hardware (the jumbo grommet) and 3 buttons to fit the challenges at Stamp with Us and Saturday Challenge. You have to see the inside and outside of the holder to see all those challenge elements.

I have plans to pair this little holder with another fun idea that I saw recently, just haven't had the chance to put it all together. Will share that when it's finished though.

Have a great night, happy stamping! :)

"I Do" with Whimsy

***If you are interested in trying out for the Whimsy Stamps Design Team, please click HERE for more information....

Happy Monday All!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and is looking forward to the new week. We are having our first real week of summer, it's super hot and humid! No complaints here though, we've been patiently waiting for this! I did however stay inside in the cool air conditioning and stamped!

This is my card for this week's Whimsy Stamps Challenge. We want you to use our sketch this week to complete your card. You can combine with other challenges and you don't need to use a Whimsy image to play along.

This image is Whimsy's digital image, "wedding cake and kisses" which I've colored using Copics and a glitter pen to highlight. The sparkle on the veil was created with crystal effects and glitter. The papers are SU! cardstock in black, white, and So Saffron with the new Razzleberry Lemonade designer paper. I like this combo, a little something different for this wedding card.

I also added some organdy ribbon and a couple of pearls to finish this card off. This card qualifies for the challenges at Kaboodle Doodles which is to use a digital image. And then also Stamp with Fun and their challenge to use pearls on your project!

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a great afternoon. See you again tomorrow. Happy stamping! :)

Pile It On! - Watercolors

***If you are interested in trying out for the Whimsy Stamps Design Team, please click HERE for more information....

Hello All,

Hope you are having a great weekend! Today is Sunday and that means a new challenge over at Pile It On! and this week we want to see you combine some challenges and add some watercolor to your creation. The PIO challenge this week is "water coloring." Please remember that your combined challenges must be current, not past challenges.

I made a card that uses Copics and Twinkling H2Os to fill the watercolor challenge. I also mixed in some other challenges from the week to complete the Pile It On challenge!

This is my new Sarah Kay image. I first colored with Copics, then went over the image with various Twinkling H2O paints and then when everything was dry, I highlighted here and there with a glitter pen in clear. Here's a close up on the image....

The layout is from this week's Stamps and Smiles challenge. Stamps and Smiles is also this week's PIO sponsor. The papers are SU! cardstock in Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, and Certainly Celery and the DP is BasicGrey Two Scoops. I chose this color combo to work with "Your Own Colors" from the challenge at Papertake Weekly. I love blues and greens, but very rarely use them together on a card.

The accents are eyelets to fit "eye eye" for the challenge at Cute Card Thursday. I also added some ribbons and bows and a Prima flower with a button center and charm. The buttons and bows fit the challenge at Kaboodle Doodles. The final element on this card is the sentiment tag, which fits with the "Tag It" challenge at Charisma Cardz!.

Thanks for stopping on by, hope you have a great Sunday! Happy stamping! :)

Bugs, Butterflies, and Winged Things

Happy Friday All!

Hope you've had another great week. I'm looking forward to the weekend and hopefully some sun. We've got some crazy rain today, so much that I can't see out my windows! Hopefully that will all end soon!

Today is Friday and you know what that means, a new challenge over on Stamp Something and this week we have a bunch of "new" things to talk about. First, we have a new challenge of course and this week we want to see you make something with bugs, butterflies, or other winged things! You can get pretty creative with this one, have fun.

We have a new sponsor this week too, Fred She Said Designs has donated a great $10 gift certificate to their shop for one lucky winner and they sent over a few new release digital images for the DT to work with this week too.

And, our last bit of new news is some design team changes. Sadly, Alex has stepped down due to a new job, time constraints, and needing to prioritize and have more time for family. We wish her all the very best and will miss her! But, with the departure of Alex we do have good news and that's our new DT member Janna, of Janna's Creative Outlet! We are very excited to have her joining us and look forward to working with her in the months to come!

Now, on to my card....This digital image is Emma with Butterfly from Fred, She Said. The butterfly on the image and the charm are my little winged things for this challenge. The image was colored with Copics and highlighted with a glitter pen in clear and gold. The papers are BasicGrey Wisteria and SU! cardstock in the colors Chocolate Chip, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, and Certainly Celery. This combo fits the challenge at Color Throwdown this week and I love the colors!

I used the sketch from ABC-Challenge which was "X on it" to use this sketch and have an "x" of ribbon, which I did with some eyelets and eggplant grosgrain ribbon. The eyelets also fit the challenge of "eye eye" at Cute Card Thursday this week. I added some Prima flowers and a butterfly charm to finish off this card.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a great day and a great weekend! Happy stamping! :)

Truly and Whimsy

Happy Wednesday All!

Another week already half over! It rained here yesterday and so I got some stamping done, but today is suppose to be sunny again. Here's hoping, although the sun does seem to put a damper on my mojo!

Today, Whimsy Stamps is sponsoring the challenge at Truly Scrumptious and they have a fun sketch to use. There is also a little something extra to go with the sketch, they want to see you use beads on your project. I had to think about that one for a bit, but then I remembered that my daughter recently broke one of her dress up necklaces and I kept some of the pieces! Perfect!

This is my card, beads and all, using the new Whimsy Alligator stamp! The papers are SU! cardstock in Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo, and Old Olive. I'm loving the new in colors that SU! just released. The DP is BasicGrey Lemonade, perfect for a summer feel.

The image has been colored with Copics and popped up on foam tape. I created the scene using the new Whimsy Animals Accessories Sets and some Copics. I also added some glitter accents here and there, but it's hard to see in the photo. The final accents on this card are Prima flowers, buttons, dew drop beads, polka dot grosgrain ribbon, a wire heart, and the beads from my daughter's necklace.

This card also fits the challenges at The Pink Elephant and Lili of the Valley which are both animals and then at Creative Card Crew with the theme of Polka Dots, which I have in the ribbon and the gel pen accents.

Thanks for stopping by today. Whimsy Stamps is currently looking for a new designer to join our team. The call is open until July 31st. For details, click HERE. Have a great Wednesday! Happy stamping! :)

Tilda for Challenges

Hi All,

Hope you're having a great day! It's raining here today, so I've been busy stamping and cleaning up my craft area. What a mess!

I created a card using some challenges and a new Magnolia stamp, Tilda with a lace skirt, that I just got in the mail the other day. Love new rubber! :)

This card fits the challenges at:
Sketch and Stash: the layout and using some new buttons
Just Magnolia: to use buttons and a Magnolia image
Creative Card Crew: polka dots, my paper has dots
A Spoon Full of Sugar: to use swirls, I added these with the swirls Sizzlet from SU!
Everybody Art Challenge: to use dots and stripes, which my DP has both

The image has been colored with Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen. I was going for a more vintage feel so the papers have all been distressed using the edge of scissors. These papers are BasicGrey Wisteria and SU! cardstock in Almost Amethyst and River Rock. I added some Prima flowers, SU! buttons, metal flowers, and rhinestone brads to embellish this card.

Thanks for popping by! If you are interested in a Design Team position, Whimsy Stamps is currently searching for someone! Click HERE for more details.

Hip-Hippo- Ray! New Release Day

Hello All!

Hope you are having a great Monday! Things have been super busy for me today because Whimsy Stamps has just released two new animals and two new animal accessory sets to our Whimsy Animals Collection! It's been a fun filled day!

I have a card to share that uses one of our new releases, this is Whimsy Hippo! She's all pretty in pink and has been popped up on foam tape and accented with a glitter pen. Not sure you can see all the glitter though.

I chose to make a gate fold card today to fit the new Whimsy Challenge of fun folds. We want to see you create a card using a unique or different fold, anything but the typically folded in half style will work for this one!

The layout is from this week's Mojo Monday sketch and I chose the colors to fit with the mostly orange challenge at Pile It On! I know this card isn't mostly orange, but it does have a lot of orange going on, so it's close! And Whimsy Stamps is sponsoring the challenge this week, so I hope you'll join in! :) Whimsy Hippo also fits the challenge at The Pink Elephant which is the theme of animals.

Here's the inside view, so you can see the gate fold. I decorated the inside using the same colors and paper and embellies from the outside.

That's all I have for today. I've got a busy week ahead of me, so I need to get some stamping in this afternoon. Head on over to Whimsy Stamps and check out the rest of the new releases!

Hope you have a great night! Happy Stamping! :)

Layers of Color Celebrates One Year!

Happy Birthday Layers of Color!

Today I have a card to share that I made using my Layers of Color art stamps and a fun celebration sketch! Layers of Color is celebrating their first year as an art stamp company!

And to celebrate this big event, our DT member Patter is hosting a challenge all week long on her challenge site, Triple the Sketch and LOC will be offering up some great gifts for participants in the challenge. Laura, the owner of LOC, will be drawing the winners and giving away 3 fantastic prizes. These prizes will include a $50 LOC gift certificate, a prize of 3 acrylic blocks in various sizes, and lastly a prize of 3 Tsukineko Brilliance tear drop ink pads! How fabulous is that and all you have to do for a chance to win, is play along with the challenge and make a card, tag, or scrap book page using Sketch 65 over at Triple the Sketch.

This is my take on the sketch...

I started with some SU! Pink Pirouette and Baja Breeze cardstock that I thought matched perfectly with this polka dot patterned paper from BasicGrey's Two Scoops! I then used my Polka Dot Parade and Polka Dot Love stamp sets to keep with the polka dot theme. You can find both of these stamp sets and many more in the Layers of Color Boutique, HERE.

The images have been either stamped with Baja ink or colored with Copic markers. The edges of the papers have been distressed with a distressing tool, but you can use the blade of your scissors to create the same effect. I used the SU! eyelet punch to create the border and added Prima flowers for embellishments.

Thanks for popping on over today. Take a jump over to the Layers of Color shop too see all of their fabulous stamps and hop on over to Triple the Sketch to join us in the One Year Anniversary Celebration!

Happy stamping! :)

Sketch Something with Dustin Pike

Morning all and happy Friday!

This has been a great week, our first real week of summer with sunshine every day! Hopefully it's here to stay! Hope you all have had a good week and are looking forward to the weekend.

Today is a new challenge on Stamp Something and we have a fabulous new sponsor too, Dustin Pike! If you don't know Dustin's work, you need to check out his site. He creates the cutest images of monkeys and dragons and now he has a holiday collection. All of his images are digital and available for download, some for a small fee and others are free! Dustin has generously donated some fun blog candy as well as a bunch of images for the design team to create with!

Our challenge to you this week is a sketch. I've actually created this one and kept it pretty simple. And as you'll be able to tell, it was my first attempt, not the greatest, but it works! Feel free to flip it, turn it, and embellish it up! We're looking forward to seeing your sketched somethings!

For my card this week, I used this super cute Bubble Dragon image from Dustin's collection and colored him with Copics. I also highlighted with Copic glitter pens in gold and clear. It's hard to see some of the glittered areas, but you can see the gold ones. I also used some Off Beat BasicGrey papers that reminded me of bubbles in the various patterns.

The cardstock is SU! Chocolate Chip, Old Olive and Baja Breeze. I embellished with SU! buttons and some grosgrain ribbons. I also paper pierced the edging around the image. One layer of Baja has been embossed with the bubbles folder and CB. I definitely have the bubbles theme going on in this one!

Thanks for popping by today! I'll see you all back here tomorrow for a fun event with Layers of Color stamps! Have a great day, happy stamping! :)

Whimsy Has Charisma!

Morning All!

Hope everyone is having a great week. It's been busy here, no time for crafting at all yesterday. It was sunny and warm so we spent the day playing outside and running errands. We are hoping to get out today too, but rain is in our future! Hope you have a great day where ever you are.

Today, Whimsy Stamps is sponsoring the challenge over at Charisma Cardz! and it's a sketch. This is my take on the sketch....

This card uses Whimsy Lion and he has been colored with Copics and given some glitter highlights uses some Stickles. The papers are SU! cardstock in Night of Navy and Bashful Blue with new BasicGrey June Bug papers. These colors work for the color challenge at The Pink Elephant. I accented this card with some red grosgrain ribbon, white brads, various buttons, and hemp twine. The buttons and hemp bows fit the challenge at Kaboodle Doodles this week too. My sentiment is one from a clear dollar stamp and it says "thinking of you" which I thought was fun since this guy is King of the Jungle, so he's thin-KING of you! Hee hee! :) This card also fits the challenge at Lili of the Valley which is animals this week and then One Stop Craft which was furry things. This lion is definitley a furry animal! :)

Be sure to stop by the Whimsy Stamps home page to see some sneak peeks at our new releases which will be available next Monday, July 20th!

Well, that's all I have today. Hope you have a great one, see you back here tomorrow for a new Stamp Something challenge. Happy stamping! :)

Sweet Summer

***This card made the Top 5 at Cupcake Craft***

Morning All!

Hope your Tuesday is off to a great start. We have plans with friends today, the kids will have a nice time playing together while the moms have some relaxing chat time. Sounds like a great day to me!

I have a card to share today that I made using more of my new goodies, some BasicGrey Lemonade paper and a new Tilda stamp.

The sketch is from the challenge at The Next Level and they also had the challenge to make your image 3D. So this little sweetheart has been colored with Copics and cut out and popped up with foam tape. I also added flower soft to her flower basket to make those 3D as well.

The papers are SU! cardstock in Old Olive, Pink Pirouette, and Purely Pomegranate along with BasicGrey Lemonade with cute cherries and flowers. I added some Prima flowers with buttons centers and some grosgrain ribbon and a bow to fit the "Buttons and Bows" challenge at Kaboodle Doodles. Cupcake Craft wanted to see "Butterflies and Blossoms" so I stamped some butterflies as a background on the circle layers and the designer paper already had flowers but the Prima embellishments work too.

Well, that's all I have for you today. Hope you have a great day! Thanks for stopping by, happy stamping! :)

Summer Holiday

Happy Monday All!

Hope you had a great weekend. The sun was out the whole weekend here so we can't complain! After the rainy summer we've been having any sun is definitely welcome.

I have a card to share today, one I created for a few challenges. First, today there's a new challenge posted at Whimsy Challenges and we want to see your "Christmas in July" creations. You can make a holiday or winter themed card. Feel free to combine this challenge with other challenges and you do not need to use a Whimsy Stamps image to play along. If you have one, of course we'd love to see it though.

This is my let is snow card using Whimsy Seal. I think this little guy is perfect for winter. He's been colored with Copics and then I added some "snow" underneath him. The "snow" is a snow writer pen and glitter. This sketch/layout is from Friday Sketchers and I used some SU! Night of Navy with Bashful Blue cardstock. I also used a piece of Whisper White cardstock that I embossed with the CB and snowflakes folder.

The ribbon is from a retired SU! pack. The embellishments are some punched out navy circles with buttons, which qualify for the challenge at Stamp with Fun of punches and shapes. I also added a piece of gingham ribbon with a snowflake charm and brad. The sentiment is from Whimsy's Winter Words set which is on a tag created using the word window punch.

Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you have a great afternoon. I'm headed outside with the kids now and then maybe a picnic on the lawn in the backyard.

Happy stamping! :)

I want to give a big shout out to Dalis, my teammate on Pile It On!, today is her birthday! Hope it's a great one Dalis! Happy Birthday and many more! :)

Pile It On! challenge 6 - a sketch

Morning all,

Hope you're having a great weekend. The sun is shining here, so no complaints! As today is Sunday, there is a new challenge posted at Pile It On! and this week we want you to use our sketch along with other current challenges as you pile it on! Remember piled on challenges need to be current to count.

This is the card I made using the sketch.

At first I wasn't sure what I wanted to make, a card or a scrapbook page. This sketch would be great for either, but I settled on a card. I'm much better at cards than I am at scrapbook pages. So, I'll stick with what I know! :)

This card also fits the challenges at Papertake Weekly of "my favorite things" of which I used my favorite color combo of purple and green with my new favorite paper, BasicGrey Wisteria! Love this paper! The card stock is SU! Elegant Eggplant and Mellow Moss. I used my Rainy Day Emma stamp from Whimsy Stamps and paper pieced her dress, boots, and umbrella to fit the challenge at Simon Says Stamp which was to paper piece on your project. The rest of the image was colored with Copics.

The small rectangle areas are a green piece of Wisteria paper with embossed vellum over. V is for vellum was the challenge over at ABC Challenges. And my sentiment, from SU! Short and Sweet is thank you to fit the "thank you miss" theme at Cute Card Thursday. My final accents to finish off this card are some Prima flowers, dew drop beads, grosgrain ribbon, gingham ribbon, and linen thread with a butterfly charm.

Thanks for dropping by this Sunday. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day and if you're in the mood to challenge yourself, join us in piling it on! Happy stamping. :)

Just Magnolia Butterfly

Hello All!

Welcome to the weekend! Yay! Hope you have some fun stuff planned. I'm getting ready to head outside to enjoy the sunshine. But before I do that, I wanted to share a card I made using some new goodies!

This card is for the Just Magnolia challenge this week which was to use a sketch by Mina. I loved the sketch, very easy to use and I just happened to get a couple new Magnolias in the mail yesterday so of course I needed to ink them up!

This is Tilda as a Butterfly and she's been colored with Copics and paired with my new BasicGrey Lemonade paper. This is such a sweet image and these papers are perfect for summer! Love this color combo of pinks and greens and yellows, which just happens to be the color challenge at Stamp Something this week too.

I used my Coluzzle to frame Tilda with a scalloped oval Nestie. The card stock is SU! Purely Pomegranate, Pink Pirouette, and Old Olive. They match perfectly with this Lemonade paper. I used grosgrain and stitched ribbon to create on of the sketch layers and the added a wire heart and flower charm. The final accents were some Prima flowers and button centers with some paper pierced and white gel pen faux stitching. The sentiment is from SU! Short and Sweet.

Thanks for visiting. Hope you have a fabulous weekend! See you tomorrow for a new Pile It On! challenge. Happy stamping! :)

Stamp Something Pink, Green, and Yellow

Morning All and happy Friday!

I can't believe another week is over, time is flying by! I'm actually not at all sorry to see this week final end though, it's been another rainy one here in NH. Hopefully the weekend will bring some sunshine!

We have a new challenge today over on Stamp Something and it's a color challenge. We want to see you make something using the colors pink, green, and yellow. We have a great blog candy prize donated by our new sponsor Peachy Keen Stamps. They also generously donated some stamps for the design team to use in our samples this week.

This is my card using this sweet happy face flower. The photo is a bit darker than I would like because when I tried to enhance it, everything got way too bright and the colors looked horrible. So, orginal is how it's staying!

The card stock is all SU! in Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, and So Saffron. I also used some SU! and BasicGrey designer papers in pinks and yellows. The image has been colored with Copics and placed in a scalloped circle frame. This layout is from Truly Scrumptious this week, however to enter the challenge I would have had to use black, white, and another color. So sadly, this card doesn't qualify, but I just loved the sketch and had to give it a try. I embellished with various grosgrain ribbons, Prima flowers, a button, and a couple brads. This card does also fit the challenge of children cards at Stamp with Us.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you'll join us in stamping something pink, green, and yellow this week. Have a great weekend! Happy stamping! :)

Sweet Treat

***This card made Top 5 at The Pink Elephant***

Happy Wednesday,

Hope you had a great day! It was raining here again so I did some housework and laundry and only just now got to do some stamping. I'll be quick with this post because it's late and it's time to relax in front of the TV.

This card is for a few challenges starting with Digital Tuesday Challenge and using this cute Dustin Pike monkey with a cupcake to fit the challenge of Sweet Birthdays.

I also used the stars and strips challenge at The Pink Elephant. I have some punched stars and a couple strips of ribbon. The ribbon also fits at Creative Card Crew and the button accents work for Charisma Cardz!. Finally, I used the sketch from Mojo Monday with some Fancy Pants papers and card stock from SU!.

Thanks for stopping by, I hope to have a little more time for crafting tomorrow, but if I don't see then, I will see you on Friday with a new Stamp Something challenge. Have a great night, happy stamping! :)

In Black and White

***This card made the Top 5 at Cupcake Craft***

Happy Tuesday,

This is going to be a quick post as I should be making dinner! Hope you had a great Tuesday. It's a rainy one here again, a good day for stamping and relaxing inside with the kids.

I create this card today for a few challenges. The image is Whimsy Skunk colored with Copics. The papers are some I got at WalMart. I love the soft floral patterns and elegance of these. They are paired with Basic Black and Whisper White from SU!. I embellished with a fabric flower, ribbon rose, black and white striped ribbon, strips of sticky rhinestones, and some brads.

This card fits the challenges at:
Cupcake Craft of black and white
A Spoon Full of Sugar to use hearts
Stamp with Fun - the layout I used, I did flip it around though
Cute Card Thursday to use stitching
Creative Card Crew to use ribbons
Paper Take Weekly to use "My Favorite Things" of which I used one of my favorite Whimsy Stamps

OK, I think that's all of them! Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great night! Happy stamping! :)

Whimsy Birthday Challenge

Hi All!

Hope your Monday is going well and the work day is over for you. I've had a busy day catching up from the long weekend. Hope you all enjoyed the 4th of July and had some fun! We never did see any fireworks, but the sun was shining so no complaints here!

I have a card to share today for the new challenge at Whimsy Stamps Challenges. This week our theme is anything birthdays! I also added in a couple other challenges with this card. My image is Whimsy Turtle, colored with Copics and highlighted with a gel pen and some Stickles.

The sketch/layout is from Lili of the Valley challenge. I love this sketch, very easy to use. My papers are SU! Bravo Burgundy and Baja Breeze with some patterned paper by Fancy Pants Designs. I stitched the edges with my sewing machine and also put some stitching on the ribbons to hold them together. I'm not the world's best seamstress, so my stitching isn't exactly straight! The stitching though fits with the challenge of a "Stitch in Time" from Cute Card Thursday. The final accents are some Prima flowers and button centers, which fit the button challenge at Charisma Cardz. And final the challenge at The Next Level is buttons and bows of which I have both. The sentiment is from SU! Short and Sweet.

Thanks for stopping by today, if you're up for a challenge, head on over to Whimsy Challenges and join us in our Birthday Challenge! Happy stamping! :)

Exciting News and a Card

Happy Sunday All,

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I don't typically post on Sundays, but that is going to change. I have some fun and exciting news to share, I have been asked to join the design team at Pile It On! challenges! Of course, I said YES! I love challenges and I'm honored to work with this talented bunch of crafters! If you don't know about Pile It On!, head on over there now and check it out. They are a fun weekly challenge site which posts new challenges each Sunday. What makes Pile It On! unique though, is that not only do you need to use the PIO! challenge, but you also need to incorporate other blog challenges into your entry. Basically, challenge yourself to see how many challenges you can add to one project! Fun right! The only stipulation is that the combined challenges need to be current challenges for them to count in the Pile It On! challenge.

This is my first Pile It On! design team card. I used the Pile It On! challenge this week, which is to use at least 3 different embellishments. Then I added the challenges at Whiff of Joy, which is 3 papers, 3 flowers, and 1 ribbon, the color challenge of Guava, Chocolate, and Sky at Color Throwdown, the sketch from Sketch and Stash, and the challenge of a Stitch in Time from Cute Card Thursday.

I used this Willow with Umbrella image and paper pieced her pants and top with some Soft Sky designer paper and colored the other areas of the image with Copics. The umbrella has been paper pieced with chocolate and guava designer paper. The card stock is Groovy Guava and Chocolate Chip from SU! with other retired designer prints. I embellished with felt flowers, flower buttons, a flower charm, stitched ribbon, grosgrain ribbon, and some faux stitching with a white gel pen.

Thanks for stopping by, now what are you waiting for, get piling those challenges together! Then head over to Pile It On! challenges and check out the fabulous DT samples and play along with us! Happy Stamping!

Long Over Due Thanks....

Hi All!

Happy 4th of July to everyone, hope you are having a great weekend! Be safe and have fun!

I have just a quick post today, one I should have made a while ago! I received a few much appreciated blog awards over the last few weeks and I've been meaning to share them, but time as gotten away from me. I am so sorry to have taken so long, apologies to the wonderful ladies who shared these with me. I do VERY much feel honored to have received these from each of you! Thank you!

First, is this lovely award which I received from both Janis and Vikki! Thank you both, you are too too kind! And, right back at you too! :) It's always really nice when you're blog and work are recognized by fellow crafters. Both of these ladies also have "lovely" blogs with lots of great inspiration!

I also received this next award from Sue and would like to say thank you to her! Sue has a fabulous blog with new creations posting all the time! Sue is a friend and fellow DT member at Whimsy Challenges! Thanks for this fun award Sue!

I'm not sure on the rules for these awards, but if you have never received them, you have now! I would like to present these to the fabulous friends that take time each day to visit and leave me such sweet comments. They are always great to read and mean so much!

Enjoy your weekend! Happy Stamping! :)

Christmas in July

Happy Friday All!

We have a new challenge for you over at Stamp Something and this week we want to see your holiday cards! That's right our challenge is Christmas in July! Make a holiday or winter themed card and get a jump start on your holiday card making to do list! Anything holiday will work for this one. Our sponsor this week is Firecracker Designs and they have donated some great blog candy. Head on over to Stamp Something to check it out!

For my card I used a couple super cute Firecracker stamps, one of a reindeer and the other of Santa! Perfect for the holidays I would say. The sentiment is also from Firecracker.

It was a lot of fun to make a holiday card in the middle of summer. A nice change from the norm! I used Copics to color the images and then added some stickles to Santa. Each images has been cut out and popped up with foam tape. The papers are retired SU! designer prints and some Chocolate Chip and Old Olive card stock. I added a chocolate brad and some wide red grosgrain ribbon to finish this one off. Now I have 1 card I can check of my holiday list! I think I might start making a couple every month and get myself a big head start on the holiday season.

I hope you'll join us this week at Stamp Something. Have a great weekend and Happy 4th of July! :)

Summer Time Friends

***This card made the Top 5 at The Pink Elephant***

Hello All!

Hope your Wednesday is off to a good start. It's raining here again, big surprise! It's been one soggy summer so far and my fingers and toes are crossed for some sunshine!

Many of the challenges this week are all about summer and since we are in drastic need of it here, it's the perfect theme! Here's my Summer Time Friends card....

I received this adorable image from my friend Jo as a birthday gift. I think it says summer for sure! I love the sweet little snail and turtle and since it has been raining almost everyday for a month, the little flower umbrella is perfect! The image has been colored with Copics and then I added some Stickles for shimmer. I also had a few bubble stickers to make the raindrops look a little more realistic.

The layout is from the sketch challenge at Inspirational Sketch Challenges, which I flipped around. The colors are SU! Pink Pirouette, Certainly Celery, and So Saffron cardstock with some retired designer papers. I chose these colors to fit with the challenge at Simon Says Stamp, which was lemon, pink, orange, and apple green. And as pink and green are just one of my favorite color combos, this also fits the challenge at The Pink Elephant. The final embellishments are some ribbons, a clip, flower and button, and a rhinestone brad.

This card fits the summer/summertime challenges at A Spoon Full of Sugar, Cupcake Craft, and Everybody Art Challenge. I think that covers all the challenges! Phewww, that's a bunch!

Hope you all enjoy the rest of your day. See you again tomorrow! Happy Stamping! :)
